The rapid development of science and technology today makes us more open to accepting the changes that occur as a result of these advances and developments. In the current era of intense competition, realizing that human resources are the main model in a business, the quality of the workforce must be developed properly. Thus, companies or agencies are expected to provide opportunities for students to get to know the world of work better by accepting students who want to hold fieldwork practice activities.

Job training is the application of a student to the real world of work, which aims to develop skills and work ethics, as well as to get opportunities to apply knowledge and skills that are related to the educational curriculum. The Department of Biology, FMIPA, as one of the formal educational institutions responsible for improving human resources in general and students in particular, has made various efforts to increase the quality of its students. One of the efforts taken so far is to require students to participate in job training activities. This course provides an opportunity for students to try to implement the theory learned in the lecture into practice

As a place to do job training for the Tissue Culture Course, the Department of Biology, FMIPA chose the Palm Plant Research Institute (Balit Palma) of North Sulawesi Province in Manado.
