In commemoration of the 2019 National Waste Awareness Day (HPSN) on Sunday (21/9), students of the Department of Biology, FMIPA, Universitas Negeri Gorontalo, in collaboration with the Nahdatul Ulama University of Gorontalo and a number of other environmental activists, carried out an Action to Clean Gorontalo City from plastic waste. This action is a part of National Waste Awareness Day 2019 activities.

The Aksi Bersih Kotaku from plastic waste was attended by around 500 people involving students from the Department of Biology, FMIPA, Universitas Negeri Gorontalo, and a number of students from various majors at the Nahdatul Ulama University of Gorontalo as well as several other environmental activists.

The Aksi Bersih Kotaku from plastic waste starts at the front gate of Universitas Negeri Gorontalo and ends at the Pasar Central Gorontalo (Traditional Market). Apart from taking action to combat waste, students also carry out campaigns related to the importance of public understanding of the bad effects of plastic waste.
